Thread: Sportsbook.com moved out of the US for the time being

Received this email from Commission Account about Sportsbook.com decission to no longer accept US players.

Dear Simon,

Due to the recent industry events we will no longer accept new signups from United States residents. Sportsbook.com, PlayersOnly.com and Superbook.com will cease accepting new U.S. players on May 1st, 2011.

Affiliates on rev share will continue to be paid revenue share on their past U.S. based referrals as well as non U.S. referrals. We will also continue to accept new customers from Europe, Canada and the rest of the world.

We are very sorry about any inconvenience this might cause.

Dear Valued Affiliate

As you are probably aware, our software and support provider Sportsbook.com announced that they are suspending acceptance of new US clients as of May 1st.

This move is in response to the recent troubles experienced by the big 3 poker sites. This decision has caught us off guard as it probably has you. This effectively means that as of May 1st, Hollywood Sportsbook is not able to accept new US players as well. Canada, UK, EU etc. present no problems.

This is certainly not a decision I agree with but we are forced to comply.

Keep in mind that this decision does not affect current Hollywood Sportsbook account holders and all affiliate payments will continue as normal. We just cannot accept new US based clients at this time. This decision may also just be a temporary measure till the facts come out regarding the recent incident.

With that being said, it is your relationship with us that we consider invaluable as the Hollywood brand continues to excite and interact with your players, therefore HW is exploring alternative methods to ensure that our relationship can continue in full force via alternate methods which I cannot disclose at this time for obvious reasons.

The HW brand is committed to growing our player database and sharing our success with you.
