Each week Sportsbook Commission will break down the sporting events to come and explain how we, as affiliates can profit from them. This week’s edition is on the NFL playoffs and the coming Super Bowl. Although this is the 45th Super Bowl, NFL playoffs date back to 1932, were the Chicago Bears took on the Portsmouth Spartans. This game was meant to be a tie breaking game, but it sparked such an interest, that a full playoff schedule was created in 1933.
In North America NFL and NCAA football is the largest bet on sport. Sadly, the season is coming to an end and playoffs are beginning. The average player deposits $500 to a sportsbook for the NFL season. During playoffs, players deposits tend to be smaller, but bets are more sporadic and generally larger in size. This is also a time of year where team fans may get into the action and place wagers based on their team to make the game more exciting. We also see many loosing bettors with no bankroll looking for new sportsbooks to bet the playoffs.
Maximizing Profit Although the playoffs are short, they have a larger betting turnover than the regular season. There are many ways to generate a profit as an affiliate, and we have a few tips to help you maximize your earnings.
Step 1- choose a few sportsbooks you intend to promote for the NFL playoffs, many books offer special bonuses to players for the playoffs. It is also a good time to update your banners as many books offer NFL playoff banners. Some books even offer affiliates special deals and increase commissions; such deals can be found in sportsbookcommission.com forums.
Step 2-prepare your site to target the NFL playoffs. This can mean changing the title or description of your website to include some NFL keywords or adding some inner pages targeting the NFL playoffs. Now if you are wondering what keywords to target we have put together a list for you.
NFL playoff Keywords
The playoffs can be a great time to get ranked easy for some highly searched keywords. The usual high traffic keywords are odds, lines, spreads and others that most of us have no chance at ranking on the first page. But the playoffs is a whole new game, people tend to search more for the exact game. An example is “AFC championship odds” or “NFC wild card spreads” For the next month targeting keywords with AFC and NFC maybe a good option as they are much easier to rank for and will have a fairly large traffic rating.
Quick keyword list
AFC divisional odds/ lines / spreads ect...
NFC divisional odds/ lines/ spreads ect...
AFC Conference Championship odds/ lines/ spread ect...

Good luck and until next time happy sportsbook affiliate marketing...
